Our first 'childhood illness'
Molly has the CHICKEN POX. I think I brought the virus home from work - my boss has SHINGLES and was probably contagious last Monday at our status meeting. Molly had a fever last week that we attributed to teething. And then I saw some spots on her that we thought might be bites. Well the spots didn't go away and we took her to the walk-in clinic this morning and the doctor confirmed what I'd already guessed - CHICKEN POX. She doesn't seem too itchy (although he is trying to take off her clothes and diapers a lot more than usual). I just feel horrible because Molly has played with everyone on our street so who knows how many people we've passed it on to.

Party Weekend
This weekend was busy. Friday night I had bookclub. Saturday afternoon we went down to Ramsay to visit with Turner, Ash and Sloane. Saturday night Adam came to babysit Molly so Noel and I could go to Jacquie's party (fun fun fun). Today we had to get ready for me working in the office again and go to Julia's birthday party. It's not often we get a weekend so jam packed. Luckily we still managed to get some quality naps in too.

Good luck Noel!
Noel left this morning to bike in a fund raising ride for the special olympics. He's part of a team that is riding from Lethbridge to Edmonton. He figured he'd have to ride about 10 hours in the next 24. Better him than me!! So all the best to you Noel. I can't wait to see you Sunday and hear all about it.

"I don't care if it's raining, I want to go outside!!!"
Last night we experienced one crazy storm. There was flooding all over Tuscany. One of the houses 2 blocks away was struck by lightning and burned down. Our house got hit with a power surge that blew our cable box and fried one of our smoke detectors. The thunder was so close it literally shook the house. But Molly, being the trooper she is was unfazed. She can sleep though a storm like that but god forbid I go pee because that wakes her up every time!

Garden
This weekend has also been garden time for me. I planted a bunch of bulbs last fall and they're finally making a show. My ornamental onions should be in bloom soon too - so exciting. I've added a climbing rosebush, a peony and some more containers to the front and I found some need container/trellis things to block Molly's access to the laneway at the back. I've planted them with sweet peas and yellow flowers of some sort. I home the sweet peas take. I love them!
