Easter 2009
What an amazing long weekend. The weather finally broke and we got a taste of spring. It was wonderful to get outside in the sun each day. And almost all the snow is gone FINALLY! Friday we took Molly to Butterfield Acres. She did much better there this year. She ran from animal to animal...so excited to see them. But she's still too afraid to touch them. She even requested a pony ride! I really didn't think she'd do it. But she loved every second. The egg (painted rock) hunt was fun too.
Saturday, Sherri and Jaimie organized an egg hunt for all the neighbourhood kids. It was so incredible seeing all the kids running around the hood with their baskets. The kids did so well. Each one got to get one egg at each house on the street. There wasn't any fighting or tears. The kids seem to have really passed that phase and are playing together so well.
Yesterday the Easter bunny came to our house while Molly was asleep. She was soooo happy to have another hunt in her own house. We decided to keep the day pretty low key. Sherry, Stevo and the kids came over in the morning and then Julie Murray came over for dinner. All in all it was a fabulous family weekend!

Welcome Jake!
Yesterday was our 18 week ultrasound. It feels like we've been waiting for it FOREVER! Not because we would get another look at our little babe but because we would hopefully find out if Molly was going to be having a new sister (like she was constantly talking about) or a little brother. I was afraid that the little gaffer wouldn't cooperate (the baby is our child after all) but we were in luck. Our little babe was more than happy to put his bits on display...again, again and again. The technician said 'my he IS proud' as she got more than an eyeful of Jake in all his glory.
Next on the agenda? Breaking the news to our little Molly. For weeks she's been telling everyone that she was going to be having a sister named "Kelp". And talking about how she was going to share a room with her new sister. She would make the odd comment about her brother "Oscar" but whenever we tried to talk to her about the new baby possibly being a brother she would just laugh and say "no mom, Kelp is my baby sister!". I was quite worried she'd be disappointed but Noel did an amazing job of getting her excited about her new brother Jake. And I'm pleased to say she's not mentioned a word about Kelp since...it's all Jake, Jake, Jake.
Eamon Jacob Corkey Flatters. We can't wait to meet you!
