Adventures in Calgary

Life is great. Molly is in preschool full-time. Jake and I are home full-time. All the issues with breastfeeding seem to have resolved themselves. Jake is healthy and happy. Molly is healthy and happy. I am relatively healthy (if not fit) and happy (contrary to what my failed depression screen said). Noel is healthy and super happy for many reasons but the biggest one by far is that he is loving his job right now. We are all settling into life as a family of four and it feels awesome.

Jaker is officially holding his head up which means he can go in the baby carrier facing forward. I took him for his first walk around the hood yesterday. He seems to enjoy being able to look out at the world.

Noel and I thank our lucky stars everyday that we have such wonderful children and such a great life. Molly is thriving at her preschool dayhome. She is becoming more confident and self-assured everyday. She can almost print her name (she's got the oll down ha ha). I realize I've been lax in recording all of the spontaneous funny things she says lately so here's one that made us laugh.

Last Friday
Molly: What's for supper tonight dad? (she asks this everyday)
Noel: Pizza pie
Molly: Delivery or pick up?
Noel: Actually Molly mom's going to make it
Molly: No dad. That's not an option.

We ended up doing delivery.

What a wonderful Halloween! Molly got to wear a costume to Valerie's. A different costume to ballet. And then she wore her Belle costume for Halloween night. Talk about a girl who loves to dress up's dream come true!!! The weather was perfect. We spent the afternoon in the backyard carving and painting pumpkins and playing smash the box with Clark and Blaise. All the kids on the street were dressed and ready to go around 5:45 pm. And we all went door to door through our neighbourhood for about an hour. What a sight to see, this giant mob of Tuscanites descending on each house. One woman actually asked "where did you guys come in from?" Too funny. Sadly, Jakie would have nothing to do with his stroller so Noel had to stay home with him and missed all the fun.

In other news, it looks like Jake is cutting teeth ALREADY!!! He will be 10 weeks old this Saturday and I can already see his two bottom front teeth peeking out from his gums. I don't know if they are here to stay or just poking out for the short term but it was still quite a surprise none the less.
