Rice cereal success

We were going to wait until next weekend to start Jake on solid food but over the last week or two his signs of readiness have become too obvious to ignore. He's been drooling like a madman and mouthing like a cow chewing his cud whenever he would see us eating. I've been letting him play with his spoon for a while and he's getting really good at getting it into his mouth. I even let him chew on a raw carrot this week and when I tried to take it away from him he absolutely freaked! So this morning he got his first taste of rice cereal and he wolfed it down. I don't think we're going to have any trouble getting him to eat at all!

Remembering Grandpa Flatters

We took Molly and Jake to Ottawa for the weekend for Grandpa Flatters funeral. It was a wonderful service. Their church was full of people who loved and cared for Grandpa and who will hopefully be there to help Grandma get through this difficult time as she starts to build a life for herself. Family is so important and it makes me so sad we don't have more opportunities to surround our children with their extended family. I'm sorry Grandpa didn't get to meet Jake. But at least Grandma got to have some good time with us all this past weekend.

Things I don't want to forget

Molly is so funny. Her personality and sense of humour have really developed a lot in the last six to eight months...approximately the amount of time she's been away from Suzanne's. Coincidence?!?! I think not. She's also finally sleeping through the night. I guess it was a good thing making the change to Valerie's full time. But I digress. Some of the things I don't want to forget...

Molly likes to call herself Molly Rose Periwinkle Sparkles Jacqueline Rainbow Dash Toots Laughs Crazy Legs Corkey Flatters. And god forbid if we mess up the order.

Molly likes to tell Noel he's "out of the question"...and then goes on to explain how she, Jake and I are all "in the question" but Noel's silliness makes him "out".

Molly talks like she's an expert on everything and constantly talks about how much "experience" she has now that she's almost four.

Molly calls a penis a tail and a vagina a front bum.

Molly likes to talk about how she and Jake came out my "door" after knocking for a really long time.

We are so lucky to have such an intelligent, funny, entertaining little girl.
