Life

Hair Cut

I took Molly to the salon in Tuscany for a hair cut. The photos where she's wearing her blue ballet tights are the BEFORE shots. The hairdresser hot ironed her hair in order to cut it. And in doing so created a monster! Molly wakes up most mornings and the first words out of her mouth are 'how is my hair'. The fact that she has curly hair drives her crazy. She thinks it looks messy all the time. She was SOOOOOOOO happy to get her hair straightened. And when they spritzed it with silver glitter she was over the moon. Now I have to straighten her hair for special occasions until I can convince her that wavy curly hair is beautiful.

Old Friends

I am very fortunate to still have Turner in my life. We've been friends since second year university. We've traveled together a bit. We've lived in a couple of different cities together. And now we are lucky to have kids of relatively the same ages/sexes so we get to run into each other at all the cool kid hang outs in Calgary. We were recently invited to Sloaner's b-day party and it was so nice to have a visit and to see how well Sloaner and Molly get along. This was the second year in a row that Molly stayed after the party to watch Sloaner's favourite movie (Wizard of Oz last year, Dawn of the Dinosaurs this year) and I really hope that this is a tradition we can keep up for years to come!

Happy Easter

We had a fabulous Easter again this year. It started with a trip to Butterfield Acres with the friends from birth class. Sadly, Angela, Derek and Elliot couldn't join us...damn giant country! It was so amazingly wonderful to see Molly, Angus and Annick running around together. I can't believe how big they are. And how independent. Then the Easter Bunny came to our little blue house to surprise Molly with eggs hidden throughout the house. And later in the morning we went to Gracie's house for the street-wide egg hunt. We also got to go to Grandma Nancy's for a delicious lamb dinner. A fabulous weekend for sure!
