Adventures in Calgary

I am so thankful for my sweet boy and for my wonderful family. This past year has been hard at times but so incredibly rewarding as well. It has been so wonderful to watch my children grow as individuals and as siblings. Their relationship is just so precious.

It was fun to go back to Montanas last night for supper with both kids, remembering that a year ago it was just Molly, Noel and I there having no idea that Jake would arrive the next day. Funnily enough, there was a couple sitting in the booth we sat in last year and they also had a little girl around 3 yrs old and the wife was hugely pregnant. I wonder if her water broke last night?!?!

Today we're off to Grandma Nancy's to celebrate. I'll post photos of that and our summer holidays soon!!!

Tomorrow morning Jake goes to Jenny's Dayhome for the first time. I just can't believe he's almost a year old already. This maternity leave has flown by. It just doesn't seem real. I've so enjoyed my time with Jake for the past year and enjoyed having more time with Molly this summer. It's going to be hard to become an evenings and weekends parent again. You just miss soooo much. I was really hoping Jake might walk before going to the dayhome, just so I wouldn't miss his first steps like I did Molly's. I guess there's still a bit of time. My first day back at work is September 8th. Jake will go to Jenny's every day between now and then for short bits of time as he works up to full days. I'm hoping this slow transition will make it easier and less emotional for all of us. My little boy is growing up!
