McDonald's Orange Drink
This morning I went for my gestestional diabetes test - oh joy oh bliss! I knew I had to drink some sort of sugary drink, then sit for an hour, and have a blood test. For some reason, I was picturing a thick chalky gross drink but to my surprise it was just McDonald's Orange Drink - the kind all elementary schools used to serve from a keg-sized, Ronald-emblazened cooler on hotdog day. Oh the sweet (and I do mean sweet) memories. I think these memories helped me drink it without too much trouble. Thank you St. Christopher's School and Our Lady of Lourdes for preparing me for this day.
Last night we had our first "Birthing From Within" class. It was so much better than I'd hoped. For some reason, I'd convinced myself that I wasn't going to like the teacher, the content or the other participants but luckily I was wrong. Tania seems like a wonderful, honest, straightforward teacher. The participants seem funny and nice. And each class is going to end with us learning a lull-a-bye to sing to our babies! I can't imagine a more wonderful thing...when we started to sing I nearly started to cry. It is just so incredible to think that we are having a baby and that we will one day soon be singing her to sleep.
In other, non-baby news, we should have a finished garage, 2 new leather chairs, and an installed microwave by the end of this weekend. Life is good!
