Moving ahead
So many things have happened in the last few weeks. The stress of selling and buying a house is almost over. The stress of moving offices continues but pales in comparison. Molly has started to kick hard enough and often enough that I can feel it on the outside of my belly...how can so much happen in such a short period of time?
It was very hard going back to Ontario to move all of our stuff here for good and say a final good-bye to Rancho Relaxo. Noel wasn't able to get the time off work so I had to go alone - in hindsight I think that was probably a good thing. My parents were absolutely awesome (as usual) as were John and Chuckie. Everyone helped me sort through our stuff and figure out what would make the trip West and what wouldn't. To make matters worse, I threw out my back the morning I flew to Hamilton while I was putting on my pants so I spent the entire time in Ontario in physical pain...just my luck!
For all our worrying about both sides of the deals closing, it ended up going pretty smoothly on closing day (October 27th). We are now the owners of a house in Tuscany, our car is paid off, our credit cards and lines of credit are paid off and we are building a garage! We've also been able to pay back all our family debt...it feels pretty damn good.
As hard as it was to leave my house on the lake, I could see that it was the right thing to do for us. There was no way we could afford to keep it up. It really is falling apart and with Molly on the way - who needs that sort of stress?
I'm looking forward to being in our 3 yr old house with all our stuff. In fact, our stuff arrives tomorrow!!! Today Jana should be all loaded by noon, I'll meet the cleaners there this afternoon, and then Noel and Brent are going to sort out the basement in preparation for the arrival of all our stuff! Because my back was so sore when I was in Kingston I didn't do nearly as much weeding out as I'd hoped but at least now there isn't any rush to do it.
The chair from Ottawa didn't make the trip because when I got to Kingston I found it was stained and I couldn't rule out black mould so I figured we'd better be safe and get rid of it. We went looking for a new chair and actually found one at the Bay that we both really like so we'll be ordering that this week.
On top of all this, my office has been closed and we don't have new space yet. Everyone is 'working' from home until we find a place. While this seems very well and good, it is in fact very, very stressful. I hope we get some resolution soon. Tomorrow I have to go in to a hotel for our weekly status meeting...at least there will be snacks.
On the Molly front, as I continue to grow, it is becoming more difficult to eat. I get really, really hungry very quickly and then really, really full as soon as I start to eat. Then it all happens again a couple of hours later. I'm hoping to get into a routine for eating that doesn't leave me starving or uncomfortable once we're back in the house.
Speaking of hungry...it's that time again.
