10 weeks to go
I am 30 weeks today. It seems wrong to have such little time left in this pregnancy. Molly seems to be thriving - if her kicks, punches and general spasms are anything to go by. I'm finding that I'm getting more tired (and some would argue grumpy) by the day but that's not too much of an issue because there isn't nearly as much to do these days. I'm so glad we're not travelling anywhere for the holidays.
This past weekend we went away to the Kicking Horse Resort in Golden with Noel's work. It was wonderfully relaxing. I LOVED not snowboarding!!! Michelle surprised me with some sparkling apple juice, chocolates, and a bath bomb that I put to good use. I don't remember the last time I was able to sit back and relax for 2 days straight!
Noel also surprised me with a trip to our favourite gallery in Canmore. We stopped on our way to the resort and he bought me the most beautiful ring. It's made by a local artist. It's white and yellow gold with 3 diamonds. It's called "clouds passing by stars" or something like that. I absolutely love it. Now I have a wedding ring and a motherhood ring!
Our roomate Michelle moves out today. It'll be very weird to see her room empty when we get back from birth class tonight. It's been great having another girl around. I just hope that we don't drift apart once she becomes a 'downtown' girl and we're boring old parents.
I guess that's the biggest thing I've been worried about lately...the fact that I'm not going to be cool, thin, or funky anymore. That I don't know how to reconcile those things with being a parent and somehow think they must be mutually exclusive. I keep looking at younger, cooler people with longing and at baby shops with dread. It doesn't help that I'm turning 33 tomorrow. Where oh where did my crazy fun youth go?
